Moxibustion
Moxa therapy (Moxibustion, Moxa) is a treatment which applies both acupuncture and moxa. The tip of the needle is wrapped in moxa (dried mugwort, lat. artemisia vulgaris) and ignited, generating heat to the acupuncture point and the surrounding area, which enhances the therapeutic effect. Or the therapist may just place a small box of moxa balls on the afflicted part of the body. The pleasant heating sensation harmonizes and strengthens the flow of qi, especially for cold and stagnant conditions.
