Acupuncture Treatment

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is based on the theory that the body's vital energy "qi" and blood circulate through channels / meridians which build a connective network throughout the whole body.

This method of treatment has been empirically tested, researched and continually refined. Acupuncture is a main pillar of TCM and consists of a very broad range of treatments, from muscularskeletal ailments to dysfunctional organs. Under "indications" you will find a list of medical conditions where acupuncture is successfully applied.

By inserting extremely thin needles into the chosen acupuncture points (360 in total), the flow of energy rebalances, blockages are released and the self-healing process is activated. The selection of points depends on the TCM diagnosis, i.e. the treatment of headaches may differ considerably from patient to patient.

The sensation the patient feels when being needled can vary from a slight discomfort, a heaviness in pressure, fine electric impulses or prickling - this is called De-Qi. Of course only disposable needles are used!
